JUST 16 players remain at the MODUS Live Lounge. The ADC Global Championship (GC) has worked it’s way down from 128 in less than a week.
It’s Finals Day and the schedule is packed:
Last 16 (best of 11) from approximately 12:30 GMT. Quarter-Finals from around 18:00/19:00, Semi-Finals later in the evening, and the Grand Final scheduled for roughly 21:45.
Young Archie Self has played himself into the favourites position after a superb couple of weeks both in the GC and at the MODUS Super Series.
However, many others are also looking strong; There is another teenager, Lewis Cook, who also shone in the early rounds, a Dutchman Van den Herik who has more gears and a dark prince who is building an aura
Winner takes Ā£20,000; runner-up Ā£8,000.
The Last 16 draw:
KLankhuizen (BEL) vs Chas Barstow (ENG)
C Francis (ENG) vs Ashley Coleman (ENG)
M Lemahieu (BEL) vs J van den Herik (NED)
MKustermans (NED) vs Michael Wiles (ENG)
Ray Mulvey (IRL) vs Neil Duff (NIR)
Jack Drayton (ENG) vs Dan Nicholls (ENG)
Lewis Cook (ENG) vs Niek Tuik (NED)
Archie Self (ENG) vs Harrison Leigh (ENG)
Early action has already produced a result: Lankhuizen edged Barstow 6-4 to become the first Quarter-Finalist.
The rest of the afternoon will decide the remaining seven last-eight places. Standout names include teenage prospect Archie Self (strong MODUS form and the bookiesā favourite in places).
Consistent performers such as Neil Duff and Ashley Coleman, and a dangerous Dutch-Belgian group that has punched above its weight all week.
The format leaves no room for error. One off session ends the campaign. Expect high averages, nervous doubles and plenty of atmosphere in the intimate Live Lounge setting.
Coverage remains free on Pluto TV throughout the day. A full Finals Day review will follow once the new ADC Global Champion is crowned tonight.
